Youth Sports Festival
Saturday, May 19, 2012
Breakthrough is joining with other sports organizations in East Garfield Park to host the second annual Olympic Youth Sports Festival.
The Youth Sport Festival will host 15 different sports during the day and will also have a nutrition workshop, healthy snacks tents and other events. The event is being supported by World Sport Chicago, LISC/Chicago and Kyle Korver Foundation.
Sports highlighted will include football, baseball, basketball, archery, fencing, capoeira, volleyball, track and field, tennis, rugby and team handball.
We need volunteers to help with food, serving as security or way-finding, helping with specific sports and registration.
This is an absolutely perfect family service opportunity, as children of volunteers are more than welcome to participate in the events.
